Woods and Goods
Family Owned and Operated
Woods & Goods is a proud family-owned business. A family business is a great way to teach the kids the value of hard work, while still affording us the flexibility to be with our family whenever we are needed. It has been a true blessing to be able to help out the two kids during the last year of on-again, off-again home schooling.
Woods & Goods is also proudly Canadian. Whenever possible we like to shop with local Canadian businesses, with the majority of our wood products made from domestic lumbers, predominantly maple and walnut.

Heather
Accountant/Marketing/HR/Logistics/Etc.
Heather left her successful career as a chartered accountant to become a full-time business owner and operator. Heather runs all the day-to-day operations of Woods & Goods, from shipping and receiving, to marketing and social media, to making sure we don’t run out of wood glue (and much more). Heather’s keen eye and perfectionist personality has also landed her the prestigious job of "finishing" all the wood products (that, and Glenn didn't want to do it anymore!). It turns out she is also pretty good at keeping the books, always good to have an accountant in the family.
Glenn
Maker of Sawdust
With Heather running the business, Glenn is left to do what he does best, making mounds of sawdust. Glenn spent 20 years in structural engineering and project management before selling his first handcrafted piece. After years of home renovations and making coffee tables and cutting boards for family members, Glenn turned his talent towards raising money for his charity road-hockey team and selling many of his "classic" beer totes. From that success Woods & Goods was ultimately born! We are happy to continue that tradition, and routinely donate to charities such as Road Hockey to Conquer Cancer, Sick Kids, CAMH and many others.
Family Tradition
"Sawdust in my Blood "
Glenn’s grandfather was an extremely talented carpenter, practicing his craft well into his 90’s and passed on his love of woodworking to Glenn at an early age. In his teenage years, Glenn worked for his Uncle, who like his Grandfather was also a talented carpenter and business owner. Glenn spent his teenage years loading airplanes and building camps at Hawk Air’s Fly-in Fishing Camps in Northern Ontario.
Although Heather may not have sawdust flowing through her veins, she did learn the art of running your own business from her parents. Her father still runs his own successful farm in nearby Guelph, Ontario, while her mother owned and operated a computer store for many years.
Family has been so important to both of us, and we couldn’t have started Woods & Goods without the support of our wonderful parents and family!
